Annasaheb Gundewar in whose name this College is dedicated was born in the year 1918 at Hinganghat. He belonged to a very poor family. His parents had to struggle for making both ends meet. By dint of his hard work and great interest in education, he passed all his University Examinations as a private candidate. He joined as a Clerk in Tahsil Office at Arvi. He had an ardent desire to uplift the downtrodden and joined the Bharat Sewak Samaj. Due to his extraordinary organizational skill soon he was elevated to the post of Pradesh Convenor. Under his stewardship the BSS earned to a great name and fame all over the country. Late Shri Gundewarji selected “JAURWADA” as his spare of activities and implemented lost of Social-Economic Development Schemes and it has been converted into a Rural Development Centre by Village Uplift Society.
This Jaurwada is well known as “Kannamwargram”. Annasaheb was also the Founder Secretary of the Village Uplift Society. Later on he became the Chairman of Agricultural Committee of Z.P. Wardha. He died on 29th September 1974 in Nagpur
