Interest & Activity

Education is meant to ensure all round development of the student. Promotion and encouragement to the aspirations of potential genius to bring out the best out of him/her is essential to build all round personality. The College conducts various activities mentioned below, that promote academic and extra curricular interest and encouragement among students.


COLLEGE PUBLICATIONS

DRISHTIKSHEP :

The college publishes its annual Magazine ‘Drishtikshep’ that features articles, writings and achievements of the students.

The college annual magazine 'Drishtikshep' received a state level Third Prize by Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai for the Academic year 2014-15


DELVE :

The College regularly publishes a half yearly Research Journal ‘DELVE’ (ISSN 2229-7510). Delve as the name suggests, means exploring new information and analytic contemplation. The basic purpose of bringing this journal by the college is to explore original contribution of the faculties and to keep them involved in research activities to expedite new information and qualitative skills among the faculties.


PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYMENT CELL :

The cell works on building qualitative personality traits and skills that are most sought after by the employment market. Employment cell provides information about employment opportunities and employment building skills.


SPOKEN ENGLISH COURSE :

The college offers English speaking course to help students develop English Language skills in the context of building qualitative communication skills and competence.



SHORT TERM COURSES :

The college has introduced short term certificate courses from 2009 that cater to the needs of aspiring professionals. The courses cover wide range of topics such as leadership, resume writing, group discussion, interview techniques, E-commerce, presentation skills etc.


EXTRA-CURRICULAR AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES :

The college organizes many extra curricular and cultural activities and events to build all round personality with multiple qualitative traits and competence at varied level. Students are encouraged to plan and participate in singing, debate, dance, acting, drama, literary writing and many other activities.


STUDENTS’ SUPPORT :

Students’ support includes activities, programmes, college cells and initiatives that provide services, important information, platform to discuss and participate in students welfare activities. As per the guidelines & rules prescribed by Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Incentive marks (Maximum 10) is given to the students with outstanding performances in NCC, NSS, Sports, Cultural & Continuing, Adult Education and Extension activities.


GANDHIAN THOUGHT

Gandhi Research Foundation (Govt. of Maharashtra, venture) Jalgaon organised Jm§Yr {dMma g§ñH$ma narjm  from 2014-15 every year. Near about 20-80 students are participating in the exam. The certificates awarded to successful Candidates.

NET/SET GUIDANCE CENTRE :

(for Backward class students & minorities) :

College facilitates NET/SET guidance for backward class students and minorities.


REMEDIAL COACHING FOR SC/ST & MINORITIES

Considering the cut throat competition, fewer employment opportunities and non-availability of the supporting academic aid the college provides remedial coaching for SC/ST and minority students to provide them equal opportunities with others.


CAREER COUNSELING & PLACEMENT CELL :

Career Counseling cell guides students to pursue their academic aspirations in various streams. The experts offer their help to the students for the selection of the streams, academic problems, subject guidance and other related information.

Our college has a Placement Cell for the better placement of the meritorious students belonging to various streams. The cell helps students finding recruitment in top companies in the market.  Our college has signed MOU with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for campus recruitment.

10 students are selected in 2017-18 and placed in TCS, MIHAN, Nagpur. Till date total 32 students are selected. Three girl students were shortlisted by HCL Technologies, MIHAN, Nagpur in 2017-18


GUIDANCE FOR COMPETITIVE EXAM :

The students are given guidance for preparation of competitive exams during regular classes in respective faculties  throughout the year. They are given extra classes after their routine classes.

This initiative is taken by the teaching faculty members in order to motivative the students to appear for competitive exams.


INTERCOLLEGIATE DEBATE COMPETITION

The College organizes Intercollegiate Debate Competition every year since the inception of college. This event receives an overwhelming response of participants. The winning team receives a Memento, Certificate and Cash prize as well Individual prizes are also given for Rs. 5,000/-, Rs. 3000/-, Rs. 2000/- (and two consolation prizes of Rs. 500/- each.)


BACKWARD CLASS STUDENTS WELFARE COMMITTEE :

Established with a prime aim of uplifting the backward class students by providing additional facilities other than academics, such as preparing them for various competitive exams following the right track.


The committee organizes 3 days residential camp every year to help students to achieve their own development and contribute in nation building through aptitude, reasoning and logic. Highly skilled professionals of the field are invited to impart their expertise and interact with students. The selection of students for this camp is purely done or merit basis.


Such practice has gained acclaimed as a one of the "Best Practices" of the college.


To mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar a week long series of lecture was organized wherein the experts threw light on the life and contribution of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in the field of academics. To commemorate his event state level Essay Competition was organised with cash prizes Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 5,000 as first, second and third prize respectively.


INDUSTRIAL VISITS, FIELD VISITS :

Each Teaching Department organizes Industrial Visits, Field visits for the students to give them practical exposure and first hand experience of the work culture in industrial units.


STUDENTS’ COUNCIL :

Students’ council helps students discuss multiple problems in academics administration and extra curricular activities. Students’ council has an elected body of college representatives from both girls and boys group that plans activities for students welfare and grievance’s redressal.


PARENTS - TEACHER’S MEET :

From time to time the college holds meeting with the parents. This is not to complain against the students but to discuss various aspects of their ward’s performance, welfare and progress.
